The BC SUPPORT Unit believes in the importance of showing appreciation by providing compensation to patient partners (compensation is defined as something awarded to someone in exchange for a service such as an honorarium or gift).
When we engage patients as partners, compensation is offered under the terms of the Patient Appreciation Policy. The level of compensation is not intended to reflect the market value of a patient’s contributions but should reflect a meaningful expression of appreciation.
