REACH BC is a new online platform that aims to improve how British Columbians can connect with opportunities to volunteer in health research. REACH BC is a trusted source for the public to find research opportunities related to their health condition or interests. Researchers can post their opportunities on REACH BC and find study participants and/or patient partners.
Supporting COVID-19 Research
We have expedited the full launch of the platform in response to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to support the recruitment of participants in COVID-19 related research.
We invite the research community to post their health research opportunities related to COVID-19 or any research opportunities that can be done remotely via telephone or online. Visit the newly launched REACH BC for more information or e-mail Stefanie Cheah, REACH BC Project Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Patients or members of the public connect to health research opportunities in 3 simple steps:
For more information and to sign up, visit REACH BC.
REACH BC is free and easy to use. Researchers sign up for REACH BC and add their active research projects to the directory, then REACH BC’s matching algorithm will automatically find any volunteers in our database that match the basic eligibility criteria, and notify them by e-mail. If a volunteer is interested in the opportunity and wants to connect with the research team, REACH BC system will pull the volunteer’s contact information into a list for researchers. REACH BC will allow a faster and more efficient way to find and connect with researchers who are looking for participants or patient partners for their research projects. For more information, download the Researcher Fact Sheet or visit REACH BC to sign up.

About the BC Health Research Connection Project
REACH BC, formerly the BC Health Research Connection Project was led by the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute in collaboration with health authorities and organizations, research institutes and universities across BC. Both patients and members of the research community have provided valuable input into the project planning. Thank you to all the stakeholders who were involved in the development of REACH BC. Funding for REACH BC has been provided by the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) as part of its $10 million financial contributions to the BC SUPPORT Unit. REACH BC is independent of MSFHR’s Reach Program and Reach Awards.
